Assistant Equipment Technician
OVERVIEW: The Forest Country Club is excited to announce the opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Mechanic.
In 2025, the Bear course completed a $10.7 million renovation which included converting to Platinum TE Paspalum, a new Rain Bird irrigation system with HDPE pipe, new pump station, and bunkers with Bunker Solutions liner. The course is scheduled to open in early December.
POSITION: The Forest Country Club is looking for an Assistant Mechanic to aid our Equipment Manager in maintaining the equipment for 36-holes. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a drive to learn, cooperative, organized, hands-on, sound decision maker, and has the desire to advance in the business. This is an ideal entry level mechanic position to learn from an experienced Equipment Manager.
SKILLS:
· Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical or electrical issues on all golf course related equipment
· Maintains a safe and clean shop and workspace
· Aids in creating and maintaining a written preventative maintenance plan
· Knowledge of reel adjustments, grinding, height adjustments, etc.
· Experience with Toro, Kubota, Club Car, and John Deere equipment
· Maintains an excellent quality of cut on all mowing equipment
· Welding/fabrication experience
· Equipment operation training.
· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
· Basic understanding of computer software such as Word and Excel
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The candidate must be physically suited to work in a golf course maintenance environment which includes but not limited to the following:
- Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required
- Work in harsh, South Florida environmental conditions
- The ability to lift 50 - lbs regularly
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
- Strong work history with continued growth in the industry.
- Spanish language skills are a benefit but not required.
