Equipment/Shop Manager

Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Manager is tasked with all repairs and upkeep of all Golf Course Maintenance equipment as well as all other department equipment here at The Snowmass Club. The Equipment manager ensures all equipment is properly running and safe to operate.  

 

Essential Functions

 Leadership

  •  Promotes a positive work environment.
  • Instruct and/or train golf course greenskeepers proper cleaning and safe operating techniques.
  • Willing to work in a team environment where all positions assist each other as needed.
  • Maintains a clean office and orderly workspace

 

Equipment Responsibilities

  •  Performs maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and electric components of equipment.
  • Experience working on diesel and gas engines.
  • Performs various tasks associated with maintaining properly performing cutting units, including adjusting heights and minor reel adjustments and grinding of all reels.
  • Well versed in small engine maintenance and repair
  • Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Experience with typical golf course equipment implements and their use
  • Ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and safely including all golf course and club equipment.

 

Administration

  • Maintains accurate information and reports of services.
  • Experience with Toro MyTurf software is helpful but not required
  • Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes.
  • Communicates with Golf Course Superintendent and Senior Assistant on priorities for each day

 

 

Other Functions

  • Position will be on the winter snow removal schedule which begins at 4:30am

 

Educational Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience Requirements

  • Previous golf course Equipment Manager experience preferred.

Special Requirements

  • A desire to live and work in a high mountain environment which receives 170+ inches of snow annually

$38 to $57 per hour
