We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Equipment/Shop Manager to oversee our fleet and facility, ensuring peak performance and operational excellence. Position Overview

As the Equipment/Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all golf course turf equipment and turf facility. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery are set up and maintained to the highest standards. You will lead, mentor, and grow a  team of technicians in the future, oversee parts and inventory management, and work in a fast-paced environment to meet operational demands efficiently.

Your ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems will be essential, as will your skill in reel and bedknife setup for precision cutting quality. You will manage emergencies, respond quickly to equipment issues, and support the overall success of our golf course maintenance program.

This position is required to have a "TEAM FIRST" mentality and a focus on teaching the "WHY" to the team.   Positive attitude and strong work ethic are crucial to the operation.

About the Course

  • Recently reconstructed by Andrew Green.  Re-opened May 2025.
  • Less than 200 Members.
  • Less than 6,000 rounds yearly.
  • 80% of Equipment is a purchased two years or newer fleet
  • Budget exceeds $3 Million for maintenance.
  • Capital purchased as needed or justified.

Educational Requirements

CTEM certified or working toward professional credentials with certifications from other manufacturers.

Experience Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of hands-on turf equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, including reel and bedknife setup.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, gasoline, and diesel systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Strong leadership skills, including supervising, mentoring, and supporting technicians’ growth.
  • Exceptional organizational, record-keeping, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and responding quickly to urgent repairs.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in outdoor and shop environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trades training preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
