Golf Course Superintendent
Educational Requirements
Develop and manage an annual agronomic plan, labor schedule, and operating budget in collaboration with ownership and management.
Lead the ongoing rehabilitation and enhancement of all playing surfaces, focusing on irrigation, turf health, and playability improvements.
Oversee and guide the installation of a new Rain Bird central irrigation system, including rewiring and reconnection of satellite boxes and heads.
Manage the existing POA greens under high-salinity conditions, utilizing expertise in salt management, rapid blight, and summer patch control.
Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing maintenance team, including the potential to add an Assistant Superintendent, Spray Technician, and Lead Mechanic.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate chemical and fertilizer application records.
Work collaboratively with other department heads to support course conditioning for daily play, tournaments, and events.
Oversee equipment maintenance and preventive programs, ensuring reliability and longevity of assets.
Participate in educational programs and turf conferences to stay at the forefront of modern agronomy and irrigation technology.
Experience Requirements

Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent with a track record of successful turf improvement and team leadership.

Strong understanding of irrigation systems, including design, repair, and modernization.

Knowledge of high-salt turf management practices and disease control specific to Southern California climates.

Excellent communication and organizational skills with an emphasis on planning, budgeting, and documentation.

California Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
