Golf Course Superintendent

The Superintendent will work alongside the Director of Agronomy in all aspects of managing the golf course and training staff. We are looking for a detail-oriented leader to help take the club to the next level of course conditioning. The Sonoma Golf Club is a high-end private club that provides us with every resource we need to be successful.

In 2023 Tripp Davis oversaw a bunker redesign and renovation. We are currently in the middle of a complete irrigation system replacement installation. The system was designed by EC Design and is being installed by Integrity Golf Course Construction. Future projects will include re-grassing the property to provide an environmentally sustainable product and consistent playing surfaces for our members.
Key Responsibilities of the Superintendent:
· Works with the Director of Agronomy to ensure that the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans are maintained and followed.
· Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties.
· Assists in the planning, organizing and direction of the maintenance and capital projects.
· Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf varieties, trees and ornamental plants.
· Assists in the procurement of supplies and materials and ensures costs remain within budgetary limitations.
· Keep records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assist with the preparation of required reports.
· Assist with timely coding of all invoices, payroll and other required documents.
· Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations.
· Ensures associates obtain proper license needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations. Addresses directly all real or perceived environmental concerns.
· Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
· Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
· Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor degree, Associate degree or equivalent from a four or two year college; 3-4 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and
Experience Requirements
· 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant, Second Assistant, or Assistant in Training Superintendent.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, & Outlook.
· Have or can obtain a Pesticide Applicators License within 90 days of employment.
