Golf Course Superintendent
Personnel management, participate in hiring and firing of golf course staff and daily supervision of job assignments, performance and development. Prioritize daily tasks and incorporate projects during down time to ensure peak conditions. Oversee and participate in daily care and maintenance of golf course and clubhouse areas to include but not limited to pest control, fertilization, spraying of fungicides/pesticides etc. Oversee equipment tech to ensure daily maintenance and inspection of all equipment and tools related to the golf course operations. Oversee equipment tech to schedule equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair along with reel grinding during the off season. Oversee watering system programs and execution. Administrative duties to include but not limited to purchasing, inventory control, ensure safety procedures and controls are implemented and followed. Clean background check, good work ethic and a flexible work schedule a must.
Educational Requirements
Associates degree in horticulture, turf management, agronomy or related field. Bachelors’ degree preferred. Consideration given for 3-5 years of experience as 1st assistant.
Experience Requirements
3-5 years of experience as 1st assistant with 3 -5 years of experience in golf course maintenance. State pesticide applicators license in hand or must be obtained within 30 days. Equipment maintenance helpful
