Equipment/Shop Manager

Full-time

Key Responsibilities 

  • Can assist with training operators on the proper use of the equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks to identify repairs necessary for proper operation of all equipment.
  • Completes repairs and routine preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Grind reels as needed.
  • Operation of all equipment.
  • Opportunity to hire, train, and develop assistant mechanics.
  • Maintains the records associated with the maintenance and repair of the equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Along with assistant mechanic, check all reel mowers after every use to ensure proper quality and height of cut.
  • Communicate with the Superintendent regarding equipment or shop issues and problems.

Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years as an Assistant Equipment Technician, Equipment Technician, or Equipment Manager

  • Self-driven and performs well in an environment where taking initiative and proactivity is encouraged.
  • Problem-solving ability with a focus on resourcefulness.      
  • Takes pride in their work with high level attention to detail.
  •  Has working knowledge of light and heavy golf maintenance equipment.
  • Skilled in the use of equipment repair tools and making mechanical repairs.
  • Has working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions while repairing equipment.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Can adapt quickly in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Practice excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • An understanding of the game of golf is helpful, but not necessary.
