Equipment/Shop Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Can assist with training operators on the proper use of the equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
- Performs routine maintenance checks to identify repairs necessary for proper operation of all equipment.
- Completes repairs and routine preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
- Grind reels as needed.
- Operation of all equipment.
- Opportunity to hire, train, and develop assistant mechanics.
- Maintains the records associated with the maintenance and repair of the equipment.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Along with assistant mechanic, check all reel mowers after every use to ensure proper quality and height of cut.
- Communicate with the Superintendent regarding equipment or shop issues and problems.
Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years as an Assistant Equipment Technician, Equipment Technician, or Equipment Manager

- Self-driven and performs well in an environment where taking initiative and proactivity is encouraged.
- Problem-solving ability with a focus on resourcefulness.
- Takes pride in their work with high level attention to detail.
- Has working knowledge of light and heavy golf maintenance equipment.
- Skilled in the use of equipment repair tools and making mechanical repairs.
- Has working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions while repairing equipment.
- Communicates effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Can adapt quickly in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Practice excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- An understanding of the game of golf is helpful, but not necessary.
