The Sea Pines Resort is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent for Heron Point by Pete Dye. This position plays a key leadership role in daily golf course maintenance and works closely with the Superintendent to ensure high-quality playing conditions on a demanding Pete Dye–designed course.

Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent supports all aspects of golf course maintenance, including crew leadership, agronomic programs, irrigation management, and project execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking to advance their career in a dynamic and competitive golf environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with planning and supervising daily maintenance operations

Lead and train staff members on proper techniques and safety procedures

Help manage daily course setup, including cup cutting, bunkers, mowing, and detail work

Participate in pesticide and fertilizer applications, calibration, and record keeping

Oversee irrigation operation, hand watering, troubleshooting, and repair work

Assist with cultural practices, renovations, and improvement projects

Support preparation for tournaments and resort events, including the RBC Heritage

Contribute to scheduling, crew organization, and labor management

Qualifications

1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience preferred

Supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus

Degree or certificate in turfgrass management preferred but not required

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to grow professionally

Solid understanding of turf maintenance practices and irrigation systems

Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Commitment to maintaining high-quality playing conditions

Pay starting at 55,000 based upon experience
