Golf Course Superintendent

The team at Hampton Roads Golf Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Golf Course Superintendent for our Honeybee Golf Club course. The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for consistently providing exceptional golfing conditions and the management of golf course maintenance and landscape operations. The Superintendent is expected to lead the golf course maintenance team and to possess strong agronomic, business, interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute daily, weekly, & seasonal maintenance programs to ensure optimal grounds health.
• Oversee the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, range, & landscaping.
• Establish and monitor agronomic standards to maintain consistent course quality.
• Oversee operation, repair, and optimization of the irrigation system.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the maintenance team.
• Provide ongoing staff development, professionalism, and pride in course conditions.
• Work with our team mechanic to ensure the maintenance and repair of all turf equipment.
• Manage storage facilities, chemical storage, wash pads, and maintenance buildings.
• Maintain detailed records on agronomy, environmental compliance, equipment, and staff.
• Communicate professionally with guests & leadership regarding course conditions & maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with golf operations staff to support tournaments and daily play.
