Turf Equipment Technician

Golf Course Mechanic:
The Golf Course Mechanic inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects of all equipment assigned to the department. Duties include sharpening and height adjustments of all cutting units, general overhaul and maintenance of motors/small engines, orders parts/supplies required to perform such repairs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and will complete assignments efficiently. Previous related experience as a mechanic, automotive or small engines is required.

Job Requirements:

Ensures that mechanical repairs are performed on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment in a timely and precise manner. Ensures that all equipment is always kept in operable conditions.

Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes.

Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in all types of golf course maintenance equipment

Performs mower grinding/sharpening, general overhaul of motors and reels.

Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment.

Ensures accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, and parts ordered are kept.

Assists the Management team in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing the work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Assists in the management of the department and training given to each new associate.

Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment and shop facilities and features.

Education

Three years of golf course mechanical experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Wage and compensation:

Salary will range from 50,000-65,000 based on experience and knowledge of maintaining equipment. The position will be available Immediately.
