Position Overview

We are seeking a 2nd assistant to join the Greens Department at Somerset Hills. While living on the course, assistants will convey the standards associated with working at a high end club in a fun and fast paced environment. A focus on education gives assistants an opportunity to grow significantly in both turfgrass management and network building. Weekly “turf talks” act as an open discussion on a relevant topic. This is a role designed to further careers and help people understand the “why” behind decisions. Regardless of an employee’s title, all members of the SHCC turf team are considered “Superintendents-in-training.”  We collectively work towards one main goal, providing playing conditions that can compete with anyone!

Responsibilities

• Greens Sprays, Fairway Sprays, Tee Sprays

• Hand Watering 

• Quality Control, Training, Lead Operations

• Scheduling Crew & Management

• Water Management   

• Fertilizer applications

• Operation of Heavy Equipment

• Irrigation Setup and Repair 

• Cultural Practices (Aerification, Topdressing, Verticutting)

• Learn Industry Leading Turfgrass Management Strategies 

• Project Management

• Fantasy Football
