Golf Course Superintendent
Pine Lakes Golf Club is a signature Arnold Palmer 18 hole course with a practice facility and 18,000sq ft clubhouse. Palm Coast is located on the east coast of FL 1/2hr from St Augustine to the north and Daytona to the south. We are looking for a hardworking, self motivated individual who wants to grow with us and takes pride in a job well done. This is a hands-on position.
The superintendent will report directly to the Owner and/or General Manager.
A thorough knowledge of warm season Bermuda greens and turf management is a must. Our fairways and tees are 419 bermuda and our greens are Jones Dwarf. Applicant must be aware of and proactive in preventing and addressing turf issues to provide the best outcomes possible.
Ability to calibrate and apply pesticides and fertilizer applications. Candidate must be "chemical savvy" and aware of both common generic and proprietary /agency herbicides to maximize the cost efficiency of applications. Maintain inventory of chemicals and supplies and record chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the Club's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Apply all essential greens applications and supervise routine spray applications.
Maintain the grounds around the clubhouse for an aesthetic and professional presentation.
This candidate must possess a positive attitude as well as a strong work ethic and be organized, attentive to details, and self motivated. Strong problem-solving skills, efficient time management, solid communication and interpersonal skills are required. Most importantly, the candidate should be passionate about turf and take pride in results.
Safely operate standard golf course maintenance equipment including but not limited to all mowers, aeration equipment, chain saw, tractors, backhoes, etc. This is a hands-on position.
Run a professional, organized and tidy maintenance building.
The candidate should have experience working with a staff of 7-10 FT & PT employees depending on the season. This includes: hiring, training and writing schedules for staff and daily work assignments. They must insure that operators are trained to operate equipment correctly and work efficiently.
The candidate should lead by example through a hands-on, hardworking, and teamwork-oriented leadership style . The golf course superintendent work week will average no less than 50 hours per week.
Communicate effectively with your lead mechanic to ensure that problems with equipment are addressed in a prompt and efficient manner.
Perform irrigation repairs as needed and work with and train staff in all areas of irrigation repairs and maintenance.
Manage computerized irrigation system, modify or set programs and manage pump house operations. File bi-annual water usage reports.

Educational Requirements
A 2-year Turf Management Degree or equivalent experience is required.
Must have a Florida Applicators License - Core & Ornamental Turfgrass.
A Florida Aquatic Applicators License is a plus.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a first assistant or golf course superintendent is required. Must have experience with warm season turf grasses and diseases.
