Tippecanoe Country Club (TCC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to lead the golf course maintenance team. TCC is an Eighteen hole designed by famed architect Pete Dye. Over the last few years many capital projects have been completed; including new drainage systems put in place on the back nine, new concrete tunnel between the front and back nine, new creek beds installed and renovations of the shop facilities. TCC has updated and improved  maintenance equipment over the past six years including autonomous fairway mowers, new aeration and Verti cutting equipment, tractors, sand pro, and more. 

TCC is a semi-private country club located in a resort community averaging about 16,000 rounds per year. The greens, tees, and fairways are a blend of bent and poa irrigated with a Toro irrigation system. We host numerous IGA tournament events as well as private outings and school tournaments.

The members and managers have a strong commitment to continual improvements to the club, which has been and continues to be demonstrated by the resources the club directs toward those improvements. The new Superintendent should be willing to assist with the design and implementation of golf course improvements, both long term and short term projects.

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance and care of the golf course and surrounding grounds.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and implement daily, weekly, and seasonal agronomic plan for all areas of the golf course including, but not limited to chemical and mowing plans.

Recruit, train, guide, and work with existing and new team members.

Develop and guide daily schedules and tasks for the maintenance team.

Develop, implement, and track the golf course maintenance budget with the assistance of the managers.

Schedule, monitor, adjust, and repair the irrigation system. 

Assure daily maintenance standards and expectations.

Collaborate and work with the Assistant Superintendent and Equipment Technician.

Maintain detailed records for agronomic procedures and equipment repair and maintenance. 

Work directly with the golf pro and event coordinator to schedules and to meet the needs of the club. 

Communicate daily with the pro and formally meet with managers and department heads on a regular basis. 

Provide and appreciate the need for enhanced maintenance conditions for special events such as but not limited to club championships, member/member events, member/guest events.

Have a full understanding and appreciation for the needs of the playing surfaces to include consistent afternoon shifts for hand watering and the like during high turf stress conditions, etc. 

Recognize and complete minor golf course improvements.

Assist with scheduling, designing, and implementing golf course improvements.

Educational Requirements

College degree

Minimum of turf management certificate. 

Spray license

Experience Requirements

Previous golf course superintendent experience or strong assistant superintendent experience.

$70,000 to $95,000 per year negotiable based upon insurance needs and experience.
