Galloway National Golf Club is one of southern New Jersey’s premier private 18-hole golf courses, designed by Tom Fazio. Situated along Reeds Bay and surrounded by towering pine forests, the course offers a unique blend of seaside strategy and woodland beauty.

The club has hosted the Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship, NJSGA Championships, and USGA qualifiers. With a singular focus on golf and championship-level course conditions, Galloway National provides an outstanding learning environment for aspiring turf professionals.

This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals early in their turfgrass careers seeking hands-on experience, strong mentorship, and long-term professional growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily golf course setup and maintenance

  • Supervise and work alongside maintenance staff

  • Assist with irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting, and repairs

  • Apply fertilizers and plant protection products in compliance with regulations

  • Monitor turf health, moisture levels, and playing conditions

  • Assist with planning and execution of agronomic programs and course projects

  • Safely operate and maintain turf equipment

  • Maintain accurate records and assist with scheduling

  • Promote safety, efficiency, and a positive team culture


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree, certificate, or current enrollment in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred

  • 1–3 years of golf course maintenance or turf management experience

  • Knowledge of cool-season turfgrasses, including bentgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, turf-type tall fescue, and fine fescue

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn

  • Good communication and organizational skills


Work Schedule

Summer (June–September):

  • 12 days on / 2 days off rotation

  • One (1) three-day weekend per month

Off-Season (December–March):

  • Five-day work week

  • One (1) weekend per month rotation
