2nd Assistant Superintendent
The Second Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in the daily maintenance and presentation of a newly constructed, 36-hole golf facility. Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and First Assistant, this position assists in planning, supervising, and executing all aspects of turfgrass maintenance while helping establish long-term standards and procedures for a new property. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a motivated professional seeking growth in a progressive, high-profile operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the daily maintenance of all playing surfaces, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and native areas

Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff in the absence of the Superintendent or First Assistant

Help develop and implement maintenance programs for a new golf course, including mowing schedules, cultural practices, and detail work

Assist with chemical and fertilizer applications; calibrate and operate application equipment safely and accurately

Monitor turf conditions and report issues related to disease, pests, moisture, and stress

Participate in irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair

Assist with course setup and presentation standards for daily play and tournaments

Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate records related to chemical usage, labor, and equipment

Perform other duties as assigned to support the golf course maintenance operation
Educational Requirements
2 to 4 Year Turf Degree or certificate preferred
Able to obtain Texas Pesticide License within 90 days of employment
Experience Requirements
Previous internship or AIT experience at a golf course
