About Cattail Creek Country Club
Founded in 1988 by a group of 46 Howard County golf enthusiasts, Cattail Creek Country Club was designed by renowned architect Willard Byrd and opened for play in July 1993.
The 18-hole golf course sits on a 168-acre property defined by rolling terrain and natural water features. Greens, tees and fairways are grassed to bentgrass. Roughs consist of a blend of ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, and tall fescue.

Position Overview
The Equipment Manager works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and leadership team to ensure all equipment is properly maintained, safe to operate, and prepared to support daily operations.
The successful candidate will take pride in organization, preventative maintenance, and precision equipment setup. An understanding of consistency and detail in a high-caliber golf environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance, repair, and calibration of all golf course equipment
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
- Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory, and operating cost documentation
- Manage the equipment repair and maintenance budget
- Coordinate with the Superintendent and staff to prioritize equipment needs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Provide staff training on equipment operation and care
- Stay current with industry trends and equipment technology

Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CTEM or relevant technical certification preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in golf course equipment management or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of engines, hydraulic systems, and mowing equipment
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and determine fiscally responsible repair solutions
- Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and fine-turf equipment setup
- Skilled in reel grinding and advanced mower setup
