Assistant-in-Training

Pequabuck Golf Club, nestled on the Terryville/Bristol, CT Line, is an 18-hole semi-private Golf Course that opened in 1902. We are looking for Highly Motivated Individual to fill an Assistant-In-Training role. This individual should have prior Golf Course Maintenance experience or Landscape Maintenance experience with the knowledge of Golf.  

Ideal candidates should be highly motivated and show a desire to learn and grow in the position. They will be working alongside both the Superintendent and current Assistant Superintendent. Start date would be mid/late March or Early April (weather dependent). 

Responsibilities include:
- Golf Course Set-up, including cup cutting, tee markers management, and tournament set-up

- Irrigation Maintenance & Repair

- Syringing Greens when necessary

- Helping mow & string trim all aspects of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs and clubhouse grounds

- Hand-Raking bunkers

- Course clean-up in the spring and fall, as well as through-out the season as needed

- Assisting with projects throughout the season, which could include bunker improvement, cart improvement, tree limbing/removal, etc.

Requirements:
- Prior experience on a golf course or landscaping preferred - willing to train as needed

- Reliable transportation and a CT drivers license.

- Ability to show up on time each day and perform the expected jobs

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including rain, 90+ temperatures, etc.

- Positive attitude, a desire to learn and grow, and flexibility
