Position Overview
The Lawn Care Technician will be responsible for providing high‑quality lawn treatment and maintenance services for residential and commercial clients. This role requires independence, reliability, and professionalism, with an emphasis on safe and compliant application of lawn care products.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply lawn care treatments including herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers according to label requirements and state regulations.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as spreaders, sprayers, trimmers, vehicles, and other tools.
- Diagnose lawn issues (weeds, pests, nutrient deficiencies) and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Manage daily route, schedule, and time effectively to complete all assigned jobs.
- Provide excellent customer service and answer basic client questions about treatments.
- Maintain detailed records of applications, materials used, and service notes.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including PPE usage and chemical handling.
- Assist with equipment upkeep, inventory, and general operations as needed in a startup environment.
Educational Requirements
Preferred Education
Option 1
- High school diploma required; additional coursework in agriculture, horticulture, turf management, or related fields is a plus.
Option 2
- High school diploma required; post‑secondary education in agronomy, turfgrass science, or plant/soil science is preferred.
Option 3
- High school diploma required; Relevant experience in lawn care, landscaping, agriculture, or equipment operation may substitute for formal education.
Experience Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous lawn care, landscaping, golf course, or agriculture experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment maintenance.
- Customer service experience.
- C03 Commercial Applicator License (required or ability to obtain before start date).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain).
