Golf Course Superintendent
Seeking a Golf Course Superintendent at River Ridge Golf Club. A beautiful 36 hole property in the beach town of Oxnard. Nestled alongside the Santa Clara River in beautiful Oxnard, California, River Ridge Golf Club perfectly marries sport and idyllic seclusion.
Job Description:
Maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to company standards.
Supervise course construction projects and oversee planting and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees.
Work closely with the Operations Team to develop and propose the annual maintenance plan and budget; implement and adhere to the approved plan.
Direct and supervise maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, sand traps, water features, roughs, maintenance shop and grounds, cart maintenance, and clubhouse maintenance.
Create and lead a high-performance team while maintaining a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff; ensure co-worker satisfaction and adherence to company policies.
Identify and address safety concerns immediately.
Conduct monthly safety meetings and training sessions; record attendance and complete safety audits.
Establish and implement maintenance programs for equipment, tools, vehicles, and related assets.
Manage purchase ordering, receiving, and inventory to ensure proper quantities and pricing.
Maintain accurate records for labor costs, maintenance expenses, construction projects, equipment repair, OSHA compliance, and all fertilizer, chemical, and pest-control activities.
Plan and implement staffing schedules to ensure quality and service standards are met.
Educational Requirements
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management or a related field preferred (experience may offset education).
California QAL or ability to obtain
Experience Requirements
5+ years of progressive golf course maintenance leadership experience preferred.
Poa Greens, Bermuda grass and Kikuyu grass experience required
Proven experience managing budgets, people, and agronomic programs
Special Requirements
Schedules varies based on business needs; early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
Work involves indoor and outdoor environments, often in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds.
Regular operation of maintenance equipment, vehicles, and tools.
Exposure to chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, dust, noise, and mechanical hazards.
