Equipment/Shop Manager

The Equipment Manager (EM) reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) Facility.
Responsibilities:
● Identify and resolve mechanical issues on all maintenance equipment including gas, diesel, and electric units.
● Ensure all reel and rotary units are cutting properly and at the proper height of cut.
● Assist in continued training for the turf technicians on proper usage and maintenance of all equipment.
● Schedule, conduct, and record preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment
● Communicate with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents about any issues relating to maintenance and repair of all equipment.
● Manage, coordinate, and develop the Assistant Mechanic.
● Must be able to comply with all OSHA safety standards and practices.
Requirements:
● Advanced knowledge of reel and bed knife grinding - experience with Foley Grinders
● Experience with Toro and John Deere cutting units
● Able to quickly and efficiently diagnose issues with turf equipment
● Must have basic computer knowledge to oversee related budgets
