Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and overall health of our premier golf course. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of course management, ensuring the course remains in top condition for players and events. Your leadership will drive a team dedicated to excellence in turf care, landscaping, irrigation, and environmental stewardship. Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the golf course maintenance team, providing supervision and guidance to ensure high standards of turf and landscape quality
  • Oversee landscape maintenance activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control to maintain pristine playing conditions
  • Develop and implement landscaping plans that enhance course aesthetics and sustainability
  • Coordinate construction projects such as bunker renovations, pathway improvements, or new installations with contractors and internal teams
  • Supervise tree care activities including pruning, removal, and health assessments to promote safety and beauty
  • Maintain irrigation systems for optimal water management, troubleshooting issues promptly to prevent damage or drought stress
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, serviced regularly, and operated safely by staff

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance, turf management, and horticulture best practices
  • Proven supervising experience leading maintenance crews or landscaping teams in a similar environment
  • Strong lawn care skills including fertilization, aeration, pest management and soil health optimization
  • Experience with construction projects related to golf course development or renovation
  • Skilled in tree care techniques such as pruning, planting, and disease prevention
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting techniques
  • Leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to motivate staff and coordinate with vendors or contractors
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and tools efficiently

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years as Superintendent or assistant superintendent. 

Special Requirements

Alabama Pesticide applicators license
