Golf Course Superintendent

The Crossings Golf Club is a distinctive 18-hole, par 71 course located at 4023 Wake Forest Hwy, Durham, North Carolina, just minutes from the RDU Airport.  The course was designed by acclaimed architect Ron Garl and opened in 1997, this facility stands out as one of only two original Ron Garl designs in North Carolina, and is recognized for its unique layout and thoughtful routing over the natural terrain.  Turf surfaces are comprised of Bermuda fairways with newly renovated Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermudagrass greens, providing premium playability in the Triangle region climate. The Crossings has been honored by the Triangle Business Journal as the "Most Challenging Public & Semi-Private Golf Course" in 2020. Educational Requirements

2 or 4 - year degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, or related field

Experience Requirements

3+ years of golf course maintenance experience. 

Special Requirements

  1.  Lead a team to provide a culture of quality, success, vision, and genuine hospitality
  2. Supervise the staff and delegate specific tasks and responsibilities
  3. Direct all maintenance activities for all components
  4. Instruct and train equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment
  5. Supervise and participate in the operation and maintenance of pumps and irrigation/drainage systems
  6. Provide vision for long-term capital improvements
  7. Direct all personnel management and evaluation
  8. Operate multiple types of equipment as needed
  9. Monitor and ensure ongoing safety compliance
  10. Maintain proper record keeping
  11. Hold a Certified Pesticide Applicator's License
  12. Monitor inventory of fertilizer/pesticides, irrigation parts, safety apparel, and other related supplies
  13. Sove problems and navigate complex variable situations
  14. Be detail-oriented, task-driven, and have a sharp eye for improving course quality
  15. Communicate effectively with clubhouse and operations teams
  16. Maintain a high degree of visibility and guest engagement
  17. Possess mechanical aptitude
  18. Demonstrate strong irrigation backgroud
  19. Have experience with ultradwarf Bermudagrass
