Beth Guertal, Ph.D.: Late season nutrient application on warm-season grasses - scary or not?

10/28/2020 Beth Guertal, Ph.D., Auburn University

guertal100.jpgBeth Guertal, Ph.D., talks about fall applications of nutrients for warm-season turfgrass. Will applications of nitrogen under the full moon of October kill your Bermudagrass in January? Does adding supplemental potassium help keep your turf safer from winterkill?

This talk covers late-season recommendations for warm-season turfgrasses, and Dr. Guertal discusses N and K rates for Bermudagrass, zoysiagrass and other grasses. She also briefly mentions centipedegrass. And since the scary season of fall will eventually end, Dr. Guertal discusses what to do in the spring and when to consider applying that nitrogen for green-up.
