Grover's Visit Ireland: Day 5
After spending the night in Donegal at a little B&B just outside town we headed out to tour the Cliffs of Moher. On the drive down we passed through picturesque Sligo County. The Sligo mountains give a great preview of what was to come.
On a much better day than my first visit with Jon Kiger (the wind was hardly there) my parents and I had a beautiful day to view the Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs are striking to see. Looking at the beauty radiating off the cliff face looking out over the Atlantic Ocean has a calming feel. Words don't do the Cliffs of Moher justice. If ever visiting the Emerald Isle just like Giant's Causeway this is a must see attraction. There is more to do than just look at the cliffs. A walking trail goes all over the area so make a day out of it and see areas not seen by many others.
Standing 702 feet over the water the power of the cliffs is seen instantly

Some of our plans were cut off as we drove on the narrow windy roads leading to the Cliffs. We were not ready to drive on so crazy roads to see more scenery. So we decided to get one item off the list near Clare; The Bunratty Castle. This Castle was built around 1425 and in the 16th and 17th centuries was a stronghold of the O'Briens. There is a great Folk Park where you can experience life in Ireland over 100 years ago. Although some of the houses can still be seen today and were in working condition only up until recently.
