A Letter of Thanks

My time in Ireland is over. Tomorrow morning I fly home to New York for a few days before heading to New Zealand. Thanks to everyone who made this trip a memorable experience. I learned and saw many new things.

Ireland is a welcoming country with very friendly people. I must thank TurfNet and Jon Kiger for setting up the internship at Mt. Juliet and Aidan O'Hara for taking me on for the summer. Learning how Irish turf is managed was amazing and to see a course undergo ownership change was eye opening to me. A big thanks to Jacobsen Turf for sponsoring this blog. Thanks to Mike O'Keeffe for getting me in touch with TurfNet to apply for this great internship. Another thanks to Catherine and her family for welcoming me into Irish culture and being great tour guides.

As I head out I will miss the guys of Mt. Juliet and the course, but I hope to be back one day and see the course thriving. This has been the best experience of my life. I could not have asked for a better time, especially the weather. It has been fun blogging about my time here. I hope I did a good job reaching out the people about the opportunities outside the States and the places of Ireland. As I look forward to NZ and being home for a few days I will always have a spot in my heart for Ireland.

Thanks a million,

Peter Braun Jr.
