We are looking for someone who has the ability to tackle daily tasks under the guidance of a sound maintenance plan. The current equipment & irrigation system is tired but functional. This position will require a great deal of focused hard work the first few seasons which will naturally help mold this future Superintendent quickly. This condensed training environment will be necessary for his/her career development. The club is dedicated to following a sound capital plan to replace any current weaknesses in the irrigation system, equipment and tools over the next few years. The Golf Course Superintendent in training will be responsible for maximizing the success of the Golf Course Maintenance Department with the tools and resources given. The GCS in training will work closely with a certified Superintendent, RHGC board & club house staff daily to maximize the efficiency of operation & play. The GCS is expected to be a visible presence among the staff and customers with the ability to learn quickly & eventually administer strong agronomic, business, and communication skills on their own. The GCS must be an excellent, transparent communicator with a natural style of “sincere engagement” with both the management team and customers. Under proper guidance of a certified Superintendent and plan, he/she will quickly obtain the confidence & skillset to properly manage core functions such as staff, irrigation, equipment and agronomy management. Continuing education, professional development, strong peer group relations, and staying at the forefront of research and technology are necessary for success.
