Working with Tony Nysse, APOGEE Director of Golf Courses & Grounds, and the golf course construction team of Fazio & Davis Golf Design, we are searching for a Construction Superintendent, North Course, who has a strong background in golf course construction and golf course agronomy. APOGEE is the vision and passion of two highly successful businessmen, Mr. Michael Pascucci & Mr. Stephen Ross. APOGEE is a 1200-acre, high-end, private golf club with country club amenities such as a pool, spa, fitness, racquet sports and fishing. The club is located in Hobe Sound, FL, and will have two clubhouses with world-class food & beverage, 50+ overnight cottages and a state-of-the-art golf performance center. It will be a club without peers in the greater south Florida area. APOGEE’s golf entails three 18-hole golf courses. The West Course, designed by Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner, opened in December of 2023. The team of Tom Fazio II & Mike Davis, who also oversee the in-house golf construction team, has designed and built the South Course and a 55-acre, 360-degree driving range and 5-acre short game area that will also open in November of 2024. There is also a 7-hole (short) Wee Course and a Himalayas-style putting green that will open at the end of this year. The third 18-hole golf course (North Course) has been designed by Kyle Phillips. The clearing phase for the North Course has already commenced with a target opening of late 2025. A second Short Course (12-hole) will be constructed in late 2025/early 2026 and opened in 2026. We are currently looking for a candidate with a strong golf course construction background. This candidate must be knowledgeable in drainage grades (with GPS), working with large construction equipment, working with shapers, managing/ordering construction materials & must be able to speak Spanish. This is a management position involved with quality control of putting green and bunker construction, drainage, sand capping, and grassing. An ideal candidate would have long-term employment at APOGEE’s agronomy staff. The start date would be late 2024/early 2025. Club-provided housing is available. Job Description: Green Tee Golf, Inc. aims to expand our team as our business grows. We are looking for experienced and skilled onsite Construction Shapers and Equipment Operators to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with operating heavy machinery in a golf course construction, or similar setting. General work hours are Monday-Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM, with weekends as needed (average work hours of 50-60 hours per week). Construction Shaper & Equipment Operator Responsibilities/Duties: · Operate heavy equipment daily in a safe manner. · Perform routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure functionality. · Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment. · Track scheduled maintenance and hours of operation and notify supervisors, when in need. · Fuel and grease equipment daily. · Clean equipment daily (tracks and undercarriage, as well as operator station). · Implement the design intent in the field to produce golf course features. · Travel to job sites required. · Assist with labor tasks as necessary.
