Golf Course Construction Project Manager / Superintendent JOB SUMMARY As a Golf Course Construction Project Manager / Superintendent, you will be a key figure in the development and transformation of golf courses. You will lead a team and manage all aspects of golf course construction projects, from planning to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of golf course design and construction, strong project management skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. JOB FUNCTIONS Oversee golf course construction projects, ensuring they are executed according to design specifications, on time, and within budget. Lead a variety of activities such as the construction of irrigation systems, drainage, golf courses (greens, cart paths, bunkers, and tees), landscapes, and hardscapes project. Manage and coordinate the activities of construction crews, equipment operators, and subcontractors, ensuring efficient project execution. Work closely with golf course architects and designers to interpret and implement their vision, understanding the intricacies of golf course layout and features. Coordinate site preparation activities, including earthwork, grading, drainage, and excavation, to create a suitable foundation for the course. Manage all punch list warranty related activities. Work with crews and staff to ensure correct billing information is coming in from the field. Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints. Monitor project timelines and work schedules to meet project deadlines and milestones. Help administer and execute change orders for additional scope of work outside of contract. Ability to read and understand blueprints, contract documentation, bill of materials, landscape plans and estimates. Review job budgets and manpower as a guide for production. Assist in activities related to completion of projects by customer timeline. Check readiness of work areas prior to scheduling and mobilizing crews. Conduct plan flip/field kick-offs with crews prior to starting new job. Operate trucks, trailers, and equipment such as an excavator, trencher, and handheld tools. Manage jobsite inventory including the equipment and materials. Coordinate the production schedules for the crew by planning each day/week for production efficiency. Ensure all paperwork is complete and instructions are clear. Coordinate debris burying or hauling. Maintain clear and regular communication with clients and stakeholders, providing project updates and addressing any concerns or changes. Outline and communicate plan to manage the material deliveries for crews. Provide daily and weekly reports on progress of work in the field. Train labor and foremen on irrigation and golf course construction best practices. Perform safety, vehicle, and equipment audits. POSITION OVERVIEW: The irrigation technician in training, under the supervision of the golf course superintendent or lead irrigation technician, is responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system(s). KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, APTITUDE AND TRAITS: Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems. Understanding of agronomy, turfgrass science and the rules of golf. Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work. Ability to operate light motorized equipment. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Possession of a valid driver's license.
