The current owner of 18 years has a degree in Turfgrass Management and has been the full time superintendent and is looking to hire a superintendent to allow him to focus on other priorities. Woodland Hills Golf Course has come to be known as one of the best courses in East Texas. We are a public course with approximately 250 members as well as steady daily green fee play. We strive to provide great course conditions all year round while still keeping green fees affordable. We renovated greens in 2021 with Mini Verde and have 419 Bermuda everywhere else. Located in the Piney Woods of East Texas we have narrow tree lined fairways and small greens. No bunkers anywhere on the course.  We overseed fairways and tees in the winter with Perennial Rye.  The superintendent will be responsible for all daily maintenance projects as well as any special projects desired by the ownership. Must be knowledgeable in irrigation systems operations and repairs, have or be able to get a Texas applicator's license, and be willing to lead by example through working daily with the crew in all aspects of golf maintenance. Experience on warm season grass is required- experience with Ultra Dwarf Bermuda is a plus.  Must be knowledgeable in mechanics of all turf equipment.  Woodland Hills is a relaxed environment where you will not be asked to work 60-80 hours/week. Work life balance is a high priority for us. We have little turnover in our full time positions due to the work environment and attitude of the entire staff.

Wapika Ranch, a private working ranch and family retreat, is seeking a qualified full-time 2nd Assistant Golf Course and Grounds Superintendent. The existing nine-hole golf course is located at 6925’ elevation in a remote rural area on the upper Green River 20 miles south of Pinedale, Wyoming.  The Golf Course Architect is Carl Thuesen and the par 36, 3652-yard design utilizes the Green River and its tributaries, natural wetlands, irrigation ditches, and 4 ponds to create a unique test of golf that is both challenging and playable for all golfers. The Ranch also includes a Fishing Village, a Riding Arena, and a Children’s Barn along with extensive landscaping at each facility. The Ranch is in the process of constructing an additional nine-holes. Construction began on the ‘Moose 9’ in July 2024 with a projected completion date of November 2025. Pinedale is the gateway to the Wind River Range, Wyoming Range and the Jackson Hole Area, including Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.  Wyoming is an outdoors state with low property taxes and no state income tax.  Both winter and summer outdoor recreation activities abound in a small-town atmosphere.  Responsibilities: The 2nd Assistant, under supervision of the Golf Course Project Manager and the Golf Course Superintendent, will be involved in all advanced aspects of golf course construction and establishment of the new 9 holes. The 2nd Assistant will also be involved with the everyday operation of the existing golf course and grounds. After construction is complete, the 2nd Assistant will continue with the Golf Course Maintenance staff.  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring the golf course construction specifications, fertilizer and chemical applications for establishing the new holes, and participating in operation and programming of the irrigation system.

We are looking for individuals to join our maintenance team, working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and other Assistant Superintendents, to help facilitate and lead our team in a way that will result in the course conditions being maintained at a very high level and to be an essential part of making continued improvements throughout the property and facility.  This is a great opportunity to learn the details of efficiently maintaining a very large property effectively and sustainably, season to season.  In the past year we have expanded our overnight housing on property with the addition of 7 new cabins with putting greens in the front yard, a 1 acre putting course and a fine fescue chipping course to enhance our members and guests' enjoyment while staying on property.  We are currently growing those in hoping to have them ready early summer. This individual must be willing to work lengthy hours in various climates/conditions. Strong management skills and a proven background in proactive problem solving are a must. A distinguished skillset in equipment operation and a detail-oriented nature is required. Previous shaping experience would place a candidate as a frontrunner for this position. Duties Include:  Performs various golf course renovation tasks including the construction of greens, tees, bunkers, fairways, drainage systems, irrigation installations, land clearing and other golf course components. Operates various pieces of machinery (dozers, excavators, skid loaders, tractors). Hand tools including: sod cutters, chainsaws, blowers, shovels, and rakes.  Establishes grades and assists in ground preparation/finish work for the installation of turfgrass.  Coordinates logistics for equipment and material needs. Documents material costs and job expenses. Works with clients and management team to identify project requirements and establish deadlines. Supervises crews during daily operations. Assists in the recruitment and training of new employees. Places an emphasis on job site safety and protocols. Maintains consistent communication with management team.
