      Originally designed by famed Golf Course Architect, George Thomas in 1908.  William Flynn and Donald Ross both tweaked the property prior to World War II.  George Crump, Hugh Wilson and A.W. Tillinghast were all friends of Thomas and likely consumed the layout many times.  Whitemarsh Valley Country Club is a traditional, member owned private club with 700 members (410 golfing), gross revenue of $10 million with a $2.2M operating grounds budget.  22,000 rounds of golf played per year with approximately 13,000 of those rounds being cart rounds.  The main Clubhouse, which includes member dining facilities, banquet space, staff offices and pro shop, underwent an extensive renovation in 2018.   The course has hosted numerous tournaments over the years.  The US Open was scheduled to occur at Whitemarsh Valley in 1917.  It was canceled due to World War I and the Patriotic Open was held in its place.  WVCC has hosted the Philadelphia Amateur more times than any other club in the area and just recently hosted its sixteenth in 2024. As a regular PGA Tour stop from 1963-1980 the course saw Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Bob Murphy, Billy Casper, Tom Weiskopf and Tom Kite lift the Champions Trophy. In 2012, Whitemarsh Valley hired  Andrew Green to design a Master Plan for the golf course.  Several holes in the flood plain were reconstructed to allow for better drainage. (Elevating/crowning of fairways, sub-surface drainage, barrancas etc.) All bunkers were reshaped, multiple green expansions were installed to bring back to original design.  All tee complexes were renovated.   A selective tree management program was implemented as well creating stunning vistas and promoting better turf health. Current and planned capital projects on the golf course include bunker renovation, creekbank restorations, putting green construction, fairway/rough re-grassing and new irrigation system.  Annual capital budget for equipment and projects is $500,000. Majority of the greens are poa/bent "push-up" with xgd drainage installed.  There are 5.2 acres of greens/approaches and 26 acres of fairways and tees.  Our Grounds staff consists of 10 full time employees and 10, forty week employees.

Unlike many other facilities, Shuttle Meadow’s clubhouse is an original—elegant, timeless, and steeped in history. Each year, this course hosts the Korn Ferry event each spring, The Club Car Championship. The course was completely redone in 2010 by Tom Fazio with Tif Eagle greens and Celebration wall-to-wall. Additionally, the approaches and runoffs were replaced with Tif Grand.   The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Activities would include assisting in the budgeting, developing agronomical plans, scheduling, andng the daily activities such as course setup, daily maintenance, cultural practices, chemical application and calibration, irrigation problem solving and repair, and leading projects in construction, renovati then implementions, and enhancements. This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for leading, directing, overseeing, assisting, training, and coaching staff. APOGEE is the vision & passion project of two highly successful businessmen, Mr. Michael Pascucci & Mr. Stephen Ross.  APOGEE is a 1200-acre, high-end, private golf club with country club amenities such as a pool, spa, fitness, racquet sports & fishing.  The club is located in Hobe Sound, FL & will have two clubhouses with world-class food & beverage, 50+ overnight cottages & a state-of-the-art golf performance center.  It will be a club without peers in the south Florida area.    APOGEE’s golf entails three 18-hole golf courses. The West Course, designed by Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner, opened in December of 2023.  The team of Tom Fazio II & Mike Davis, who also oversee the in-house golf construction team, has designed & built the South Course along with a 55-acre, 360-degree driving range, 5-acre short game area that opened in November of 2024 to rave reviews. We also have an 7-hole (short) Wee Course & a Himalayas-style putting green that is seasonally overseeded & lit for evening use in our winter/spring season.  The third 18-hole golf course (North Course) has been designed by Kyle Phillips & has just recently opened it consists of 100 acres of Tifgrand, fairway cut shortgrass.  A second Short Course (12-hole) is in the grassing phase & will open in the spring of 2026.
