Michael Kuhn and Associates, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented individual with a goal of advancing in the irrigation consulting part of the turf industry. The individual should have a passion for the Agronomic side of the turf industry but seeking for a change of landscape from the day-to-day maintenance side of the business. Individuals will work closely with the Owner of the company and Senior Design Associates in developing their skill set in irrigation design, hydraulics, construction management and membership relations. MKA irrigation design philosophy and approach is significantly different than anything else in the industry and we continue to look for ways to set our self’s apart in the industry regarding water conservation and management, while ensuring our systems are installed at the highest level. The Junior Design Associate should be motivated to be a part of our team. Their responsibilities will include but not limited to: • Traveling across the country with the Owner and/or Design Associates, along with office work developing new plans, observation of construction and staking and GPS mapping. • Position will require locating to the Metro Detroit area within a reasonable distance of our home office. • Learning the GPS import/export of field data. • Programming of both manufacturers irrigation databases. Previous experience with Rainbird and/or platforms new and old is a plus. • Willing to begin training in the use of the latest AutoCAD software for both design and as-built documentation. • Communicating Problems and solutions with management and design staff daily • Willing to improve on all professional levels daily • Troubleshooting irrigation system controls and properly communicating with contractors
