Vasari Country Club Job Description Job Title: Irrigation Technician Reports To: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department Golf Course Supervises: N/A Prepared Date: June 2025 SUMMARY Maintains, operates, repairs and installs the golf course irrigation and drainage systems. HOURS/DAYS Hours and days fluctuate accordingly to the needs of the Golf Course. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Assists in maintaining, operating, repairing and installing the golf course irrigation system. · Routinely inspects irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly. · Repairs leaks in irrigation lines, valves, risers, control lines and sprinkler heads. · Assists in maintaining and repairing pump stations and field satellite controllers. · Operates all golf course equipment utilized for performance of the job. · Responsible for keeping irrigation equipment, assigned set of tools and supplies clean, organized and stored properly in designated location. · Assumes responsibility for keeping all drain inlets and valve boxes free of debris and overgrowth. · Performs assigned mowing duties on a routine basis. · Mows, verticuts, aerifies, topdresses greens, tees, fairways and roughs as assigned. · Performs general maintenance and repair of golf course and golf course facilities. · Assists in minor construction projects. · Maintains and cleans shop, lunchroom, associates restrooms, hand tools and equipment · Assist staff members as needed. · Attends any and all department meetings. · All other duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS USED Irrigation valves, pumps, controllers, electric and water lines, electronic testing equipment, specialized irrigation system equipment, power vehicles, hand tools, power tools, golf course equipment, hoses, compressors, chemicals, safety equipment, computerized irrigation controls, radios, telephones, general office equipment and motor vehicles. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year of previous experience in maintaining and operating complex irrigation systems; or an equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Required knowledge of basic hydraulics and electricity necessary for the operation and maintenance of a golf course irrigation system, including pump stations, automatic valves, sprinkler heads and controllers. Reads and understands technical maps, drawings and manuals on irrigation systems. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS · Valid State Driver’s License SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to measure, mix and apply fertilizers and chemicals used on a golf course. Operate golf course equipment. Follow written and oral instructions, follow safety rules, maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers, completely fills out reports and forms as required.
