Join the team at Luling as we continue to build our private 36 hole golf club currently undergoing multiple facets of both construction and grow-in. Located equidistant to both San Antonio and Austin, Luling Texas offers the perfect site to bring a world class golf course to central Texas. The club additionally will add a driving range and short course to be completed after the initial two courses.  Luling is looking for highly motivated, team-oriented individuals with a goal of advancing in the turf industry. The AIT/2nd assistant will play a crucial role in the overall care of both of these golf courses.  About the club: Winnetka golf club was originally designed by William Langford in 1917. The club later built a 9 hole par 3 course on newly acquired land on the south end of the property. The entire property was closed for the better part of 18 months to undergo a full renovation, and opened up to the public again in the fall of 2024. The project was intended to address serious water retention issues, and was consulted on by the army corps of engineers.  The club was founded in 1916, and a 9-hole golf course was constructed.  In the early 1920’s Donald Ross was hired to redesign the previous nine holes and add an additional nine holes.  The golf club was built on 120 acres of rolling, natural terrain that Ross incorporated into his hole layouts which remains a testament to his vision today.  Since becoming a private club in 1989, the course has undergone a total restoration, all in the Ross tradition.  Forse Design has remained the club's architect since 2001 and will continue with our update to the master plan.  The property consists of an 18-hole golf course, a driving range with artificial mats, and 2 practice green areas.  Greens are pushup style with Poa/bent.  The Green’s department is responsible for the upkeep of clubhouse grounds.  The club has retained Golf Water as our irrigation consultant as we work towards our irrigation upgrades.  Rain Bird IC irrigation system will be completed in the Spring of 2025.  A New Watertronics pump station will be installed in the Spring of 2025.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will work directly with the other Assistants and Superintendent on planning and supervising all aspects of maintenance on greens, tees, fairways, rough, native areas, and bunkers.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for fertilizer and chemical applications.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily crew assignments through a digital job board.  Understanding of local Diseases, pests, and weeds that affect poa/bent playing surfaces.  Knowledge of water management practices to create firm and fast conditions.  Strong organizational skills are required for the position.
