Job Summary Northmoor Country Club is seeking an Assistant Equipment Technician to join our team and mentor under our current Senior Equipment Manager. Our former Assistant Equipment Technician (AET) has moved on to take a new role as Lead Equipment Manager at a nearby Golf Club. The AET will be responsible for assisting with maintaining, repairing, and servicing a wide range of golf course landscaping equipment, vehicles, and machinery used on our golf course. Your role will involve helping to diagnose mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and conducting repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. The ideal candidate will have a desire to solve problems and be mechanically inclined. Please note – for a highly qualified professional, there is potential for this role to be a transitory position with an end goal of succeeding Jeff Cholewa, as he intends to retire in the next four years. Essential Duties: · The Assistant Equipment Technician repairs and maintains all equipment associated with the Golf Course Maintenance Department on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment. · Organizes and maintains a clean and safe maintenance area; performs related tasks as required. · Inspect, service, and repair all equipment as needed, to include, but not limited to oil and fluid changes, brakes, tires, belts, hydraulic and cooling systems, electrical issues, welding and fabrication, sharpening of reels, bed knives and rotary blades and setting quality of cut and height of cut on all cutting units. · Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections to identify the root causes of equipment malfunctions with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and equipment, using diagnostic tools, diagnostic software, troubleshooting techniques, and repair manuals. · Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. · Performs other duties as required by the Senior Equipment Manager and/or the Golf Course Superintendent · Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. · Work independently in the absence of supervision. · Typical day: o Preventive maintenance work o Check the height of cut/adjust reels o Unforeseen repairs o Check oil levels o Check for after cut appearance issues o Grind reels as necessary o Sharpen rotary blades o Grease equipment o Prep equipment for use as needed
