By New England Pro Greens and Turf, - Franklin, New Hampshire
About Us: New England Pro Greens & Turf is a leader in golf course and athletic field renovation across New England. We specialize in golf course and athletic field renovations and construction. We renovate existing playing surfaces through laser grading, sod installation, site work, and turf renovations. Position Overview: We are looking for a full-time Lead Turf & Field Specialist to take ownership of projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for an experienced, hands-on operator with great communication skills and the ability to manage a small crew. Being coachable and a team player is essential. The right candidate will have a background in golf course and athletic field renovations/horticultural practices, with expertise in grading, general site work, and attention to detail for fine grading and finish work. This position involves traveling throughout New England and working on-site at golf courses and athletic fields. You will be responsible for coordinating with sod farms, ensuring materials arrive as scheduled, and overseeing the complete renovation process—from site prep to final installation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee a small crew to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards. Operate and train others on turf-specific equipment, including sod cutters, laser graders, skid steers, tractors, and topdressers. Coordinate with sod farms for material deliveries and ensure proper handling and installation. Manage site preparation, including sod removal, regrading, and surface smoothing for golf courses and athletic fields. Work hands-on in the field while delegating tasks and ensuring team productivity. Troubleshoot issues in the field and adjust work plans as necessary to meet project requirements. Train new crew members on equipment operation, installation techniques, and job site efficiency. Travel regularly within New England for projects, with some overnight stays as needed. Qualifications: Strong experience in golf course and athletic field construction, including tee boxes, putting greens, soccer fields, and baseball fields. Ability to manage a small crew and ensure work is completed to high standards. Proficiency in grading, sod prep, and sod installation with a keen eye for detail. Experience working directly with sod farms and turf suppliers. Skilled in operating and maintaining turf construction equipment. Comfortable with a travel-heavy schedule, working at various sites throughout New England. Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, suppliers, and team members. Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus but not mandatory. OSHA 10 certification and Massachusetts Hoisting License (or the ability to obtain both) are required. Why Join Us? Leadership role with independence to manage projects from start to finish. Take the winters off. Competitive pay based on experience starting at $35/hr. 401K and health insurance available. Work in the sports industry at high-profile athletic fields and golf courses across New England. Hands-on, outdoor work with a skilled team in a specialized industry. If you have the experience, leadership skills, and a passion for high-quality turf and field work, we want to hear from you! To apply, send your resume and a brief description of your relevant experience to info@turfinstaller.net or call our office at 603-934-1995 for more details.
