Position Overview: This person will be training with current superintendent the remainder of the 2026 season and taking over as superintendent in 2027. Individual must be an experienced Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career.  Primary Responsibilities: · Direct all aspects of turf grass maintenance and daily operations for Quarry Ridge Golf Course. · Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans aligned with seasonal and long-term goals. · Lead, mentor, and manage a skilled maintenance team, including the Assistant Superintendent and seasonal staff. · Collaborate with ownership  to enhance course conditions and customer experience. · Oversee irrigation system operation, scheduling, troubleshooting and repair · Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards related to pesticide applications and environmental practices. Must have license. · Operate within a set budget and assist in long-range planning for equipment and infrastructure needs. · Must have some mechanical knowledge

Flagstaff Golf Maintenance is seeking an Assistant Superintendent in training for the Continental Country Club. The position will report directly to the Course Superintendent and assists with the day to day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the property, golf course and adjacent grounds. Working with a small crew, this position is perfect for anyone trying to broaden their knowledge of the turf grass industry.    1-3 yrs turf grass management experience, supervisory experience, self driven with a passion for the turf grass industry, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills. Works with Superintendent on short term and long term agronomic strategies to maintain the course daily, weekly, monthly fertilization, irrigation ,etc. Must have Rainbird Irrigation. Need to obtain AZ Pesticide license within 90 days. Full time yr round position. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-In-Training (AIT) is an entry-level role designed for individuals pursuing a career in golf course management. This position offers structured training and hands-on experience to prepare candidates for promotion to Assistant Superintendent. The AIT works closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to support daily operations, staff training, and project management.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance evaluation  Learn and perform maintenance tasks across all core areas: equipment operation, irrigation system management, chemical/fertilizer applications, bunker, greens, and landscape maintenance  Serve as lead for Irrigation or Application Foreman duties when needed  Support a safe working environment by enforcing regulatory compliance  Maintain detailed records and assist with administrative tasks  Promote course cleanliness, safety, and equipment care  Operate two-way radios for daily communication  Participate in special projects and course improvement initiatives  Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures
