Fowler's Turf & Grading is seeking an experienced equipment operator/ installer to help construct and maintain athletic fields, as well as golf courses. Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, performs large scale athletic field renovations, including installing erosion control, rough grading with earth moving equipment, coordinating topsoil deliveries, establishing new final grade, using & calibrating laser grade equipment, coordinating with irrigation and sod contractors and managing the new turf care until the facility is ready to re-open. Essential Job Functions · Completes construction and renovation of fields, and grounds. · Manages materials and supplies for renovation projects. · Operates machinery, equipment, vehicles, and tools. (Operates machines, vehicles, and tools in safety standard; ensures that the proper tool, machinery, or vehicle is used to perform the task required.) · Performs outdoor maintenance. (Performs daily outdoor maintenance according to schedule.) · Performs inspection and basic repair of grounds equipment. (Completes basic repairs on grounds maintenance equipment, such as tractors, aerators, and mowers, per manufacturer's specifications, and advises supervisor when unit needs repair.) · Assists and trains co-workers. · May perform supervisor's duties in their absence. · May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment. Illustrative Job Tasks · Performs laser grading operations with various pieces of equipment. · Manages individual job sites and contractors. · Performs various renovation projects as assigned. · Ensures assigned renovation projects are performed as assigned on facilities and grounds; completes and documents facility safety and maintenance checks to ensure site meets state and local standards for safety and cleanliness; reports maintenance problems to manager. · Keeps maintenance supervisor informed of site work activity and project progress. · Operates machines, vehicles, and tools, adhering to established safety standards; uses guards and personal protective equipment to protect self and others; ensures that equipment and vehicles are cleaned, greased, and stored properly; and reports needed repairs. · Completes monthly inventory of supplies; submits list of purchasing needs; and ensures safe and organized storage of materials and supplies. · May perform snow removal operations per County snow plan. · Assists in developing maintenance schedules for equipment and fields; ensures work orders are completed for customers time requirements. · Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with coursework in semi-skilled carpentry, basic trades, or landscaping based on assigned area; three (3) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance and/or renovation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
