  Victoria National Golf Club is seeking an Assistant in Training (AIT) to join our management team. We are an 18 hole private club with a primarily national membership. Designed by Tom Fazio the course has continuously been ranked in multiple top 100 lists since inception and is currently ranked number one in Indiana. Located in the southwest corner of the state, it’s the only cool-season facility in the region. Greens, tees, and fairways are grassed with L-93 Bentgrass. Our rough is primarily Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. Dew paths and intermediates are Perennial Ryegrass and HGT Bluegrass. Our turf types combined with our climate provide a unique opportunity to learn elite course presentation in an extremely challenging environment. We are fortunate to have ownership that understands what is needed to maintain a course of our caliber. We are closed annually from late November to early April to perform all turf cultivation practices as well as architectural and construction updates. Position Overview The AIT will work directly with Assistant Superintendents and the Director of Agronomy, and is considered a key member of the management team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all agronomic practices, construction projects, scheduling of staff, as well as long and short term planning. It is our goal to prepare you for a successful career as a Superintendent or Director of Agronomy. Over the last three years we have helped place three of our assistants into Superintendent positions at well-regarded clubs in the region. Victoria National is part of a network of seven private clubs that make up the Dormie Network. East Lake Golf Club Background: Located in Atlanta, Georgia, East Lake Golf Club is the home course of legendary golfer Bobby Jones and is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. The 18-hole private course began construction in 1904 and was designed by course architect Tom Bendelow. In 1913 the course was redesigned to its current layout by famed architect Donald Ross. In 1993 the club was purchased by Tom Cousins and a redesign was commissioned with Rees Jones Design. The course underwent a complete course restoration in 2024 designed by A.H.  Miromar lakes golf club is currently looking for a motivated and energetic AIT to join our team.  The golf course was designed by Art Hills, and opened in 2001. The course was renovated in 2017 by Drew Rogers.   The course closes July and August for renovations and cultural practices.  This summer the driving range will be completely renovated.   Plans are currently underway to build an additional maintenance building and renovate the existing facility. The responsibilities of the AIT include irrigation tasks, project supervision and extensive IPM duties.  The perspective candidate will have exposure to all aspects of warm season turf management, landscape management and crew supervision.  Typical work week are 40-45 hours with one weekend shift a month.

Westmoreland Country Club is seeking the next generation of Turfgrass Professionals. Established in 1904 with current Dick Wilson layout built in 1954. Westmoreland is currently in the planning process of the installation of new pump house & irrigation system as well as future fairway re-contouring & bunker renovation. We have also implemented an aggressive tree removal program to restore the course to its original architecture and improve playability.  As an assistant in training, you will be exposed to all aspects of golf course maintenance and planning of daily operations including, course setup, chemical and fertilizer applications, and more. You will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent on a day-to-day basis to hone your skills and prepare you for your next step in the Turfgrass Industry.

Holly Tree Country Club is a private club located in Simpsonville SC, just outside of Greenville. The course was designed by George Cobb and opened in 1973.  In addition to a driving range, putting green, and chipping green, Holly Tree Country Club also offers a private skills area and short course. We will be undergoing a major course renovation beginning in the Fall of 2025. The scope of this project will include: all greens complexes redesigned, new better billy bunkers, laser level all tee surfaces along with adding new tees, new naturalized areas will be installed, remedial design work on select holes, new irrigation, and some necessary tree work. Other minor upgrades will be completed as well. Greens surfaces, which are currently bentgrass, will be rebuilt to USGA specs and sprigged with TifEagle. Tahoma 31 will be installed around all greens and tees. All tees will be laser leveled, some will be repositioned, and some will be made larger. We will also be adding new tees on select holes. All greenside and fairway bunkers will be redesigned/repositioned and built back to Better Billy Bunker specs. The golf course will be closed for up to 12 months as we complete this renovation. Duininck Golf will be the contractors for this renovation and Jeff Lawrence will be the architect. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to advance in their career with renovation experience as he/she will be involved in all aspects of this project.
