Degree in turfgrass science or related field is preferred but not required. Position Responsibilities: Daily mowing of all playing surfaces with walk-behind units and riding units. Proper water management (hand watering, etc.) Fertilizer and chemical applications (proper calibration and techniques) Proper course set up (daily hole and tee locations and detail work). Cultural practices (topdressing, aerification, etc.) Irrigation maintenance (irrigation head fixes, pipe repairs, locating/troubleshooting wiring issues) Learning how to manage according to the weather. Communicate well with the crew, management and members. Carry oneself with professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Understand the importance of networking, career preparation, and record keeping. Working Conditions: .The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.      Inverness Club is a Donald Ross designed 18-hole championship golf course located in Toledo, Ohio.  Inverness, which is recognized as a national historic landmark, opened in 1903.  Inverness has hosted four U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, two U.S. Senior Opens,  U.S. Amateur,  U.S. Junior Amateur, and the Solheim Cup.  Inverness is the only club to have hosted the U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Senior Open,  and the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships.  Inverness is the home of the USGA Greens Section which was established prior to the 1920 U.S. Open.  The championship course underwent a major renovation in 2017 led by architect Andrew Green and will begin Phase II in the Spring of 2024. About Kenwood: Kenwood Country Club is a private 36-hole facility located in Cincinnati, Ohio designed by William Diddel in 1930. In 2019 the Kendale Course underwent a renovation, which updated the golf course for today’s technology and restored the original design intentions. Over the last several years our Club established itself as the premier private, and family-oriented country club in the Cincinnati area, and one of the top clubs in the Midwest. In 2004, Bill Bergin successfully completed a redesign of the golf course, significantly enhancing an already outstanding layout. Multiple tees are available for all ages and ability to navigate the eight water features and 52 strategically placed bunkers protecting our large greens, averaging 7,500 square feet.  Each set of nine holes is arranged in an out-and-back design with both the No. 9 and No. 18 holes returning to the clubhouse.  Fox Den’s signature hole No. 18, a par 5, requires 3 accurate shots to a green complex guarded by a pond on the right and bunker on the left.  Using a golf cart is not mandatory at Fox Den, and walking is always allowed on the course.      Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents, the A.I.T. participates and helps oversee the maintenance of the Golf Course and Grounds. This position requires someone who is eager to learn and is dedicated to becoming a future leader in the agronomy industry.     These duties will include but are not limited to: Assists in daily golf course setup Perform cultural practices such as fertilization, spray applications, aerification and top-dressing.
