Macan. His vision transformed the course into a classic private club, thoughtfully routed through the natural terrain and rolling hills while preserving the inherent beauty of the Yakima Valley. Today, we are awaiting approval to bring in an architect to further restore and enhance the golf course in alignment with Macan’s original design intent across all holes. In 2022, all greens were fully rebuilt and re-grassed with Pure Distinction bentgrass, and a multi-year greenside bunker renovation program is currently underway.

Located in the southwest corner of the state, it’s the only cool-season facility in the region. Greens, tees, and fairways are grassed with L-93 Bentgrass. Our rough is primarily Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. Dew paths and intermediates are Perennial Ryegrass and HGT Bluegrass. Our turf types combined with our climate provide a unique opportunity to learn elite course presentation in an extremely challenging environment. The course was renovated in 2017 by Drew Rogers.   The course closes July and August for renovations and cultural practices.  This summer the driving range will be completely renovated.   Plans are currently underway to build an additional maintenance building and renovate the existing facility. The responsibilities of the AIT include irrigation tasks, project supervision and extensive IPM duties.  The perspective candidate will have exposure to all aspects of warm season turf management, landscape management and crew supervision.  Typical work week are 40-45 hours with one weekend shift a month.

  Indian Bayou Golf Club is seeking an individual for the position of IPM Technician.  The intergrated pest management program is designed to address the management of pest pressures in turf, ornamental plants including trees and shrubs, native areas and lakes.  This includes application of plant protectants such as fungicides, algaecides, insecticides and herbicides.  It also includes managing plant health through fertillization, promoting proper soil drainage, sunlight exposure and air movement. The spray tech will be involved in all aspects of the IPM program.  This includes: - Applications of liquid and granular plant protectants, fertilizers and soil ammendments. - Record keeping of all applications. - Managing inventory of all plant protectant products and fertilizers including organization and cleanliness of product storges. - Calibration and maintenance of application equipment including sprayers and spreaders. As assistant-in-training the person in this position will be exposed to staff management, scheduling, project planning and managment and will be considered for beginning level supervisory duties.     Indian Bayou Golf Club opened in 1978 and is one of the few classic parkland designs on the northern gulf coast.  Our reputation for player-focused course conditioning creates an expectation among our members and guests that we are to meet twelve months of the year.  We maintain TifEagle greens, 100 acres of 419 bermuda tees, fairways and roughs and Zeon zoysia in our clubhouse grounds  We also manage 14 acres of lakes and approximately 30 acres of maintained native areas.
