Holly Tree Country Club is a private club located in Simpsonville SC, just outside of Greenville. The course was designed by George Cobb and opened in 1973.  In addition to a driving range, putting green, and chipping green, Holly Tree Country Club also offers a private skills area and short course. We will be undergoing a major course renovation beginning in the Fall of 2025. The scope of this project will include: all greens complexes redesigned, new better billy bunkers, laser level all tee surfaces along with adding new tees, new naturalized areas will be installed, remedial design work on select holes, new irrigation, and some necessary tree work. Other minor upgrades will be completed as well. Greens surfaces, which are currently bentgrass, will be rebuilt to USGA specs and sprigged with TifEagle. Tahoma 31 will be installed around all greens and tees. All tees will be laser leveled, some will be repositioned, and some will be made larger. We will also be adding new tees on select holes. All greenside and fairway bunkers will be redesigned/repositioned and built back to Better Billy Bunker specs. The golf course will be closed for up to 12 months as we complete this renovation. Duininck Golf will be the contractors for this renovation and Jeff Lawrence will be the architect. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to advance in their career with renovation experience as he/she will be involved in all aspects of this project. Rocky Point, located in Essex, MD, is part of a 5 golf course system operated by the Baltimore County Revenue Authority. Opened in 1971, Russell Roberts skillfully created Rocky Point to be a challenging yet fair test of golf. Preserved natural wetlands meander through this picturesque setting, offering some of the prettiest views in all of golf in the Baltimore area. While the length at Rocky Point is only 6,650 yards; architect Roberts added some deception and difficulty to the golf course. Rocky Point, with its many elevation changes, plays longer than its posted yardage.  Par at Rocky Point is set at 72, with a fairly open front nine and a back nine that is more tree lined and high-lighted by the three par 5’s.  Greens are large and inviting with strategically placed bunkers. Position Summary: Assists in the management and administration of golf course grounds maintenance and improvement activities.
