The Peninsula Club is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Golf Course Maintenance Team as an Equipment Manager. The Club is a private, member-owned, 18-hole golfing community located on Lake Norman, 20 miles north of Charlotte, NC, and is undergoing a full course renovation. The golf course has been closed and under renovation since October of 2023 and will reopen in October of 2024. The Equipment Manager (EM) reports directly to the Director of Golf Course Grounds and assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) Facility. In 2025-2026, The Club plans to renovate the GCM Facility, and the Equipment Manager will be highly influential in the planning and execution of the project. Key responsibilities, skills, aptitude, and knowledge: This individual works closely with the superintendent to supervise, schedule, and train a large crew of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. Incorporate and enforce safe work practices. Provide safety training for employees as directed. Apply fertilizers and plant protectants, including calibration sprayers and spreaders. Record all applications and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Perform irrigation scheduling and make basic irrigation repairs. Execute and manage golf course improvement projects. Perform basic mowing tasks and cultural practices when needed. The ideal candidate will be able to recognize problems and have an eye for the details.
