The current owner of 18 years has a degree in Turfgrass Management and has been the full time superintendent and is looking to hire a superintendent to allow him to focus on other priorities. Woodland Hills Golf Course has come to be known as one of the best courses in East Texas. We are a public course with approximately 250 members as well as steady daily green fee play. We strive to provide great course conditions all year round while still keeping green fees affordable. We renovated greens in 2021 with Mini Verde and have 419 Bermuda everywhere else. Located in the Piney Woods of East Texas we have narrow tree lined fairways and small greens. No bunkers anywhere on the course.  We overseed fairways and tees in the winter with Perennial Rye.  The superintendent will be responsible for all daily maintenance projects as well as any special projects desired by the ownership. Must be knowledgeable in irrigation systems operations and repairs, have or be able to get a Texas applicator's license, and be willing to lead by example through working daily with the crew in all aspects of golf maintenance. Experience on warm season grass is required- experience with Ultra Dwarf Bermuda is a plus.  Must be knowledgeable in mechanics of all turf equipment.  Woodland Hills is a relaxed environment where you will not be asked to work 60-80 hours/week. Work life balance is a high priority for us. We have little turnover in our full time positions due to the work environment and attitude of the entire staff.

The Club is located within the community of Highland Park, Texas (4 miles north of downtown).   The equipment manager reports to the Director of Agronomy, Golf Course Superintendent and/or the assistant golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The equipment manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent, and schedules and directs the work assignments of the assistant equipment manager. The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building. The golf course and practice facilities were renovated in 2011 & 2023 by John Fought and Mike Gogel Golf Design in the design motif of the Golden Age of golf architecture, and more specifically, in a style consistent with the great Donald Ross.  The golf course is (or was) an 18-hole layout with a 3-hole short game practice area. Current Turfgrass varieties include: Tyee/007 Bentgrass Greens, Stadium Zoysiagrass fairways, tees, collars and approaches, 419 Bermudagrass Roughs.
