In 1974, the Club welcomed its first member and, now with a thriving membership, it offers many sporting and dining amenities, including the choice of playing on any of its six 18-hole championship golf courses. About the Golf Courses: The six 18-hole golf courses, all with different designs, offer challenges for the novice to the accomplished golfer and were designed by Arnold Palmer, Tom Fazio, Arthur Hills , and Willard C. Byrd. Over the six courses, there is an array of warm-season grasses, including TifEagle, TifGrand, Celebration, 419, Zorro, Zeon, Empire, El Toro, and Platinum, and cool season Perennial Ryegrass. Four independent maintenance facilities are located on the property, and the Club has recently partnered with John Deere on a 4-year lease agreement. The Club prides itself on continuous improvement and has a long-term capital plan comprising all future golf course renovations. Position Summary: The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for various activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. These would include assisting in budgeting, developing agronomical plans, scheduling and then implementing daily activities such as course setup, daily maintenance, cultural practices, chemical application and calibration, irrigation problem solving and repair, and leading projects in construction, renovations, and enhancements. Irrigation Manager Job Summary • The Irrigation Manager (IM) schedules and directs personnel and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective irrigation services to clients. IMs also support the Account Manager(s) in estimating, design and client meetings as needed. IMs will also sell irrigation services to clients, with or without base maintenance contracts, on their own. The Irrigation Manager will oversee a commercial landscape portfolio and multiple service teams. The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for training and developing these individuals and providing day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance. Duties and Responsibilities • Understand client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager(s) • Manage all irrigation services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work • Inspect properties prior to scheduled service in order to properly prepare specific action plan for service • After installation and services, monitor all aspects of the irrigation system and identify any problems • As necessary, perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands • Work with the Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new crew, and prepare daily crew schedules • Ensure proper paperwork is completed for all employee changes and new hires • Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, review, and develop growth plan for employees • Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards • Focus on safety and monitor safety records • Maintain and manage all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases, and service schedules • Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries • Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines • Assist the Branch Manager in the performance of irrigation sales tasks as required Education and Experience • 2- or 4-year degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience required • Minimum of 3 years of prior customer service, management, and leadership experience within an organization, the landscaping industry or local marketplace, including 1–2 years supervisory experience • Obtain and maintain certifications and licenses needed to perform work in local market Physical Demands/Requirements • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
