The assistant will fill in when needed in the absence of the superintendent, and will cover multiple roles during our open (summer) season as well as our closed (winter) season.   A degree in Turfgrass Science and management is helpful but not absolutely necessary, depending on the candidate. Construction of the course will begin in June 2025, with plans to seed in August of 2025, with a July 2026 opening.   Responsibilities: The Golf Course Superintendent will be hired as a project manager to oversee all construction phases, represent the owner(s), and manage and complete the grow-in phase. Upon course opening, the Superintendent shall be responsible for all phases of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations, budget cost control, and personnel management, including but not limited to management of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, rough, clubhouse landscape, flowers, parking lots, equipment, and the Golf Academy. Must manage all plant protectant applications, be licensed with a current Illinois Department of Agriculture Operator’s license, and possess a valid State Driver’s license. Join the team at Luling as we continue to build our private 36 hole golf club currently undergoing multiple facets of both construction and grow-in. Located equidistant to both San Antonio and Austin, Luling Texas offers the perfect site to bring a world class golf course to central Texas. Both golf courses are currently being built on an over 1500 acre property, surrounded by working cattle ranches, and have natural barrancas flowing throughout. Ultimately the livestock will roam fenced areas throughout the golf courses and their many  pasture lands creating a picturesque environment for golf.    The membership will be largely national and is expected to be invitation-only with less than 10,000 rounds. Course #1 has been designed by Kyle Franz while the OCM (Ogilvy, Cocking, and Mead) team are currently designing course #2. Both courses, while possessing vastly different designs, will blend modern architecture with the Texas Hill Country landscape and provide the firm and fast conditions expected of a world class golf course.
