Wyoming Valley Country Club is the 5th oldest course in PA and 45th in the United States. The original 9-hole course was officially chartered in 1896. In 1924, A.W Tillinghast was selected to construct 15 new holes and redesigned 3 holes from the original layout to what is now the current 18-hole course. The senior assistant superintendent will work closely with the superintendent in developing a spray program, analyzing the budget, and scheduling cultural programs. Gunnison county is an outdoorsmen's paradise with gold medal fishing, hunting, mountain biking and hiking within minutes of town, and the Crested Butte Ski Resort is just 30 miles away. Gunnison is also home to Western Colorado University. Landscape maintenance tasks include: operating different types of walking lawn mowers, raking of debris, use of string trimmers, operation of powered debris blowers, use of chainsaw, and operation of other motorized equipment. Tasks specific to golf course maintenance include: raking bunkers, mowing greens, changing hole locations, hand watering, blowing debris, filling ball washers, filling water coolers, moving tee markers, etc. This position must have a valid driver license and be able to drive various types of golf carts and utility vehicles in order to complete the above tasks. In addition, this position is often called upon to complete or assist in all tasks on the course including: special projects, irrigation repair, fertilizer and chemical applications, and other general maintenance tasks. Wollaston Golf Club is a Private 18 hole Golf Course located in Milton, Ma. Designed by George and Tom Fazio in 1975 the Club is rich in history, hosting the 1992 US Junior Amateur won by Tiger Woods. The 152 acre property includes a full driving range and chipping area as well as 4 tennis courts and an olympic size pool. Recently the club implemented a master plan by architect Bryan Bowers of Fazio Golf Course Design. Included in the scope of the work is changing the slopes of the greens to accommodate modern day green speeds, while also moving bunkers to fit modern day length. Extensive tree work is on-going to enhance vistas of the Blue Hills Reservation which abuts the property.  The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent on the day to day operations. The right candidate will be responsible for chemical and fertilizer applications as well as small crew management. A working knowledge of weed/insect/and disease identification is a plus. Candidates will be asked to handwater green and tee surfaces to ensure firm and fast conditions. Troubleshooting of Toro E-OSMAC Irrigation System will be required. There will be a major focus in the coming seasons for in-house drainage projects.
